Students who participate in regional, state and national honor groups qualify for an automatic discount of at least $1000. Discount offer ends March 15, 2017. Additional financial aid based on financial need is available.

Four-Week Music Discount
Students who are accepted and enroll in two consecutive programs, e.g., Symphony Orchestra Intensive/Chamber Festival Intensive, or Wind Symphony Intensive/Chamber Festival Intensive are eligible to receive a 15% discount for the full cost of tuition, meals and housing. In effect, students pay for three weeks and receive the fourth week free. Honor Group participants may apply the Honor Group discount of $1000 to one program.

Audition Materials
2017 Symphony Orchestra Intensive
Audition material can be submitted in video or audio recording form, with or without accompaniment. Performance tempos and repertoire selections should highlight your ability to play accurately and overall musicianship.
Strings: Ages 13–18
- One 3 octave scale (2 octaves for basses)
- One arpeggio (your choice of key)
- One of more pieces demonstrating technical accomplishment (something fast) and interpretive ability (something slow and legato)
Winds And Brass: Ages 14–18
- One 2 octave scale
- Two arpeggios (one presto staccatissimo and one largo legatissimo)
- One or more pieces demonstrating technical level (something fast) and interpretive ability (something slow)
Percussion:
Snare Drum:
- One etude from Advanced Snare Drum Studies by Mitchell Peters or comparable concert etude. Suggested: Etude #1
Keyboard:
- 3 Major scales of your choice, 2 octaves
- Chromatic scale, 2 octaves beginning on C
- One two-mallet solo/etude from Modern School of Xylophone by Morris Goldenberg, Fundamental Method for Mallets by Mitchell Peters, or comparable etude. Suggested: Goldenberg Etude #5
- Optional: One intermediate to advanced level four-mallet solo/etude
Timpani:
- One etude from Fundamental Method for Timpani by Mitchell Peters or comparable etude. Suggested: Etude #51

Pianists:
- One piano solo of your choice that demonstrates interpretive skills in both slow and fast passages
- Any piece of ensemble repertoire demonstrating collaborative skills with another instrument or instruments
Percussion:
